Valparaiso is also the beating bohemian heart of Chile. Poets, writers, artists and musicians have long gravitated here and the incredible and varied street art scene is testament to its creative core.
Pablo Neruda, the great Chilean poet and Nobel Laureate kept a residence here which is now open to the public as a museum and one of the highlights of this spectacular city. The ocean vistas from the house are incredible leading Neruda to say 'The Pacific Ocean spilled off the map. There was no place to put it. It was so big, disorganized and blue that it didn't fit anywhere. So they left it in front of my window.'
Ascending steeply in one of the numerous funiculars scattered around is another unique and unmissable experience in Valparaiso and the colourful and varied architecture is just another of the pleasures of this unforgettable city.

Valparaiso es una ciudad Sudamericana encantadora. Esta 'perla del Pacifico' es una ciudad de cerros y calles angostas empinadas.
Valparaiso es tambien el corazón latiendo de la bohemia chilena. Desde hace mucho tiempo la ciudad ha atraido poetas, escritores, artistas y músicos y la presencia de increible y variada arte callejera refleja la alma creativa.
El gran poeta Chileno, ganador del premio Nobel de literatura, Pablo Neruda tenía una residencia aqui que ahora esta abierto al publico como museo y es uno de los mejores lugares turisticos de esta ciudad espectacular. Las vistas del oceano desde la casa son impresionantes y se las causó a Neruda a decir que ' El Oceano Pacifico se salía del mapa. No había donde ponerlo. Era tan grande, desordenado y azul que no cabia en ninguna parte. Por eso lo dejaron frente a mi ventana.'
Subir en uno de los varios ascensores de la ciudad es otra experiencia imperdible y unica y la colorida y variada arquitectura es solo un placer más de esta ciudad inolvidable.
